So, camp outs have been a part of my life since Daniel and I first got married. We spent several days in the redwood forest on the California coast. This is where I learned that this is a rain forest, and rain on us it did! we tarp ed our tent and wore rain coats and went right on camping. We have taken Elizabeth, and McKay as well as Jeshua and even Chelsea on some of these lovely coast trips. But I think only Liz got to camp with us! Now, I am not really an outback sort of girl. I like lace doilies, earrings, and long, clean nails! I also like to bath regularly! But, I try to put on a brave face, and make happy memories! Here are some picks from the last trip to camp at the coast with the kids and the In-Laws! Oh, and this place had showers and toilets! You can really make a mess of things when you bring a baby boy along! Ben was a walking dust ball the whole time we were there! I nearly went insane with all the yuckyness he acquired!
Yup, there is my son, the blurr! He goes a bit too fast for my poor camera phone, especially in the dim forest light!
We camped and then went to several beaches. We even attended a camp slide show about the famous yellow slugs that live in these California rain forests! We camped on a dry (thank heaven) river bed that we hiked down into! We also took lots and lots of dim photos including kids and tall tall trees! It was fun, but it was nice to be home. The laundry alone took nearly a week to catch up on, but oh the memories my kids will have!
When it's all over and we are all packed in the Bell van headed home, we stop for lunch at Mc Donalds! Ben want's more fries! Yum!
Oh yes, and here is a banana slug just for you! We must have seen 10 of them that trip! If you lick it your tongue will go numb! No, we didn't try it!
That is the light house in Crescent City, Ca. Behind the girls is a stump that looks like a whale, and some whale bones!
Okay, I found more pics that needed to be included! It was quite a trip!
