I moved a lot as a kid, and so I never had the same friends for more than four years at the most.  So I got in the bad habit of making friends with everyone but not really making best friends (if you can understand the difference).  When Anna started school last year she made lots of friends, in fact I think she was fairly popular.  That wasn't very important to me, but it was nice for the social nerd in me to see she did okay in this department.  One friend, however rose to the top of the list and found her way into nearly every conversation Anna and I would have.  This girls name is Katelyn H.  her name is somewhat problematic since we have our own Katelynn Sarah (Anna's little sister), but we work around it.  This summer Anna got invited to Katelyn's H.'s Birthday party, and I got this great shot of them at the spray park where the party was held.  I have put a great deal of effort in maintaining there contact/friendship because I think it would be great if these girls could remember having one friend that knew them way back when.  Katelyn H. has moved with her family and isn't in Anna's school anymore, but we get together about twice a month on average.  So, here is to the value of friendship.  It's great to have someone who knows you, and loves you anyway!
